Port2Ja Xpress – Terms & Conditions
Please read these terms carefully before using our services.
1. Introduction
Welcome to Port2Ja Xpress. By accessing or using our shipping and courier services, you agree to comply with the following Terms & Conditions. Please review them carefully before placing any shipment order.
2. Definitions
"Company" refers to Port2Ja Xpress.
"Customer" refers to the individual or business using our services.
"Shipment" refers to the package(s) being transported.
"Carrier" refers to the transportation service(s) used to deliver shipments on behalf of Port2Ja Xpress.
3. Scope of Responsibility
Port2Ja Xpress assumes responsibility for packages only from the time they are delivered to our U.S. warehouse until they are collected in Jamaica.
We are NOT responsible for packages before they arrive at our warehouse or AFTER they have been collected by the customer.
Customers are responsible for providing accurate shipping details and ensuring proper packaging before sending items to our warehouse.
4. Scope of Liability
Port2Ja Xpress provides transportation and courier services but does not assume liability for the contents or condition of packages once accepted for shipment.
The customer acknowledges that Port2Ja Xpress is not responsible for loss, damage, or theft that occurs during transportation or delivery.
All shipments are transported at the customer’s own risk.
5. Shipment Restrictions
The following items cannot be shipped via Port2Ja Xpress:
Hazardous materials (explosives, flammable liquids, toxic chemicals)
Illegal goods (drugs, counterfeit items, stolen property)
Perishable goods without proper preparation
High-value items (cash, precious metals, antiques) unless declared and insured
Port2Ja Xpress reserves the right to refuse any shipment at its discretion.
6. Customs Fees & Duties
All shipments entering Jamaica valued over $100 USD are subject to duties and fees assessed by the Jamaica Customs Agency.
The customer is fully responsible for paying required customs charges.
Failure to pay customs fees may result in delays, storage fees, seizure, or return of the shipment at the customer’s expense.
Port2Ja Xpress is not responsible for delays caused by customs processing.
7. Booking & Payments
Customers must provide accurate personal and delivery information. Phot Identification required to collect packages.
Payment must be made in full before packages can be collected unless otherwise agreed.
Additional fees may apply, including but not limited to customs charges, duties, taxes, or special handling fees.
8. Addressing Requirements
Customers MUST include their assigned Port2Ja Xpress Mailbox Number on Line 2 of the shipping address when placing online orders.
Customers MUST specify whether they are using Express or Standard shipping.
Missing mailbox numbers or shipping preferences may result in the package being classified as “lost,” “unknown,” or may result in additional charges to the customer.
To claim a “lost or unknown” package, customers must provide:
Tracking number
Proof of purchase
Description of contents
Declared value of the package
9. Lost Package Definition
A package is considered lost if:
It has not been delivered within 30 days after the estimated delivery date.
It cannot be located within our system following a full investigation.
10. Claims Process
Claims for lost or damaged shipments must be submitted within 7 days of the expected delivery date and must include:
Tracking number
Description of contents
Declared value
Proof of value (invoice/receipt)
11. Investigation Process
Once a claim is submitted, Port2Ja Xpress will conduct an investigation within 21–28 days.
Customers will be notified once the investigation is complete.
12. Compensation for Lost Packages
If a package is deemed lost after investigation, compensation will be issued based on the declared value, up to the company’s maximum liability limit.
Compensation cannot exceed the insured amount, if insurance was purchased.
13. Exclusions from Liability
Port2Ja Xpress is not liable for:
Inadequate or improper packaging by the sender
Prohibited items shipped against policy
Undeclared or under-declared high-value items
Loss, damage, or delays caused by customs or third-party carriers
Loss, theft, or damage occurring after the customer collects the package
14. Delivery & Claims
Customers must ensure someone is available to receive their package upon delivery or pickup.
Re-delivery fees may apply for failed delivery attempts.
Packages not collected within 14 days of being marked “ready for pickup” will incur a $100 JMD per-day storage fee, or may be subject to auction/disposal.
Claims for damaged or missing items must be reported within 7 days of pickup.
15. Refund & Cancellation Policy
Cancellations are permitted only before the package arrives at our Florida warehouse.
Once a package has been received at our warehouse, cancellations are not allowed.
No refunds are issued for shipments already in transit or delivered.
16. Dispute Resolution
Any concerns or disputes must first be communicated to Port2Ja Xpress for internal resolution.
If unresolved, matters may be escalated to mediation or arbitration in accordance with applicable laws.
17. Privacy & Data Protection
Customer information is collected solely for shipping and logistics purposes and is not shared with third parties unless required by law.
18. Changes to Terms & Conditions
Port2Ja Xpress reserves the right to update or revise these terms at any time.
The latest version will always be available on our official website or by request.
